Firerock Wedding Photography
Since photographing their wedding just over a year ago I’ve had the pleasure of capturing a pregnancy announcement with Sarah and Mark’s dogs, maternity photos with the Magnolia trees and also their little man’s newborn session! Their wedding was action packed with a first look and wedding party, family and couple photos at Western with one of the biggest wedding parties I’ve had the pleasure of photographing. Their ceremony and reception at Firerock were fun to capture and I remember the day seemed to fly by!
- Back in December 2013, Mark was looking to finally meet someone outside of his social circle to have a serious relationship with. Meanwhile, Sarah was was looking to do the same as she searched online. Both of us noticed that we had friends in common and decided to start up a conversation. After a bit of conversing through text messages and on the phone we thought it was a good time to meet each other in person. On Friday December 13th, we met up at Chapters.. and the rest began here.
- Upon meeting up we were both very excited and nervous at the same time. As soon as Mark saw me his first instinct was to give me a big hug.. mine on the other hand was “oh my am I really doing this” as I leaned in for the hug and felt the warmth of his affection.
- When the time came that mark thought it was right to propose he began to complete the necessary steps. He was thoughtful enough to take, his mother, my mother and my sister to a local jeweler to help design the perfect ring for me. Prior to picking up the ring he made sure to invite my dad over for a visit and asked for his approval. I still cannot believe my sister, mother and father knew but didn’t spill the beans. That Saturday when Mark picked up the ring he knew he needed to do it right away to make it special and he was scared he was going to lose the ring. Prior to the arrangements of this ring we had organized a murder mystery dinner with 3 of my close friends (in the wedding party) and their significant others. The night progressed as normal, Mark was being very particular about my characters costume; which I thank him for now as he made sure I was dressed nicely as the proposal was documented in video and photos. During the murder mystery events my character was furious with his character (which were married in the script) , Marks character called me into the living room as I was yelling at him. He then told me to stop, dropped down on one knee and asked me to Marry him.
- Mark and I have a number of memories together.. Marks favourite memory was our first trip together to Chicago. We spent a lot of time touring around and spending time just the two of us. We drive the 6hrs there, went to a cubs came, on a boat tour, toured the town, went to a dueling piano bar and enjoyed each others company in a place neither of us had been. I also enjoyed this trip as well as the two summers we have spent at a cottage with some of my family. These cottage trips were simple but the start of a tradition I hope we can carry on yearly as we grow our family.
- We both agree that our opposites are what we like about each other. Mark works in a fast paced sales environment and often says that coming home to spending the evenings with me allows him to relax and calm down. I love that mark allows me to be me. Full of my crafts, animals, busy schedule , sports and crazy travel ideas. I also love that Mark does the laundry and keeps the house nice and clean 😉
- We have put a lot of time and energy into planning our elegant, rustic wedding. We want our guests to feel as though they are walking into our home, as we enjoy the country house in the city feel. We want our guests to have a good time, party lots and enjoy each others company as we join not only ourselves in marriage but the two families.
- We have a lot of empty walls as we have only been in our house a year now. We are excited to hang them throughout the house. No where in particular.
- One of my friends had a family session with you and I enjoyed the pictures. I had also previously met you at a pooch plunge and love that you love animals. I wish I could get pictures with my boys but they will be at daycare while we have the wedding, this way we don’t have to worry about them.
