Windermere Manor Wedding Photography
With the beginning of the year, I have made a resolution to post each wedding I shot last year within a week of each of the couples 1st anniversaries. Another resolution is to post a picture of the back of my camera from each session on my instagram so be sure to follow me @erinwoodgatephotography.
Jennifer and Peiter’s wedding at the gorgeous Windermere Manor was my first wedding of 2015 and it sure was a cold one but the wonderful wedding party stuck it out and I even spotted a deer on the Windermere property! Both the bride and groom got ready in the lovely rooms at Winderemere and I just love the idea of opening a card or letter from your other half as they did. The details for this wedding were just gorgeous with the purple/vintage/sparkle look and I just loved the unique lanterns instead of bouquets for the bridesmaids. Jennifer even wore her mom’s veil which I think is just lovely to have a something old as personal as that. As I recommend for winter weddings with later ceremonies, the couple did a first look inside (so that their emotions really were that of seeing each other for the first time, not of being cold!) and then we took some photos of the wedding party and couple on the Winderemere property then to Western for the lovely snowy landscape there.
Following the ceremony we captured some shots of all of the guests and of the families and then the very fun reception. I was even called on to hula hoop to make the new bride and groom kiss! I loved capturing the Chinese tradition elements that they incorporated in and I thought their idea of ‘tossing the bouquet’ was really nice, asking all the women in the room who were married to stand and gradually asking them to sit down and clapping them for being married for 5 years, 10 years, finishing with giving it to the couple who had been married the longest. The MC lead everyone in a 12-days-of-christmas singalong where the words were traded with things to be thankful for in marriage sung by each of the 12 tables of guests. The shoe game was a big hit as always and I liked being able to get the above angle shot from the balcony.
