Old Court House Engagement session
Clara and Lori are off to photography Nina and Adam’s big day today and so I just had to share these spring Old Court House Engagement session photographs captured by Clara!
- Adam was extremely impressed with your off-camera flash and photography talent. Nina liked how you capture the emotions and candid shots, with natural lighting and not looking too staged.
- We matched on Bumble! Our first date was a dinner at a Vietnamese restaurant in Seattle. Nina’s first statement was “What are we drinking?” to which Adam responded that he didn’t drink alcohol. Adam then panicked and ordered a family sized side serving of just mushrooms. At the end of the date, Adam said goodbye with a firm handshake and a “Thank you for taking the time to meet with me today”. Unfortunately, the move worked and here we are.
- Nina: I walked into the restaurant, Adam was already seated with his back to the door. He told me to look for the person dressed like a picnic blanket. Since we had already matched on an app, I knew roughly what he would look like, but even then was still surprised by his height when he stood up. Adam: I don’t recall. She was very trusting when she got in my car for us to drive to ice cream.
- We were living in Slovenia and on an extended road trip of the Balkan region. The morning of, Nina got out of the shower and Adam freaked out because he was up to something. Later that day, Adam said “Oh we should dress up nice and do a fancy dinner and take sunset photos”. This behavior was immediately suspicious to Nina. That afternoon, we arrived in Nafplio, Greece and went for said dinner- they offered free ouzo at the end and Nina asked Adam how drunk she should be in the photos (he said, maybe just drink one). Later, he set up the tri-pod to capture sunset photos and told Nina to stand in front so he could set up the frame properly. While she was adjusting her hair, Adam started a video, walked over, and got on one knee. He knew Nina was picky, and proposed with a bracelet in the shape of Slovenia (in a box of Slovenian sea salt) with a promise to ring shopping together.
- Adam: Our second date. I made her nanaimo bars and we had a romantic picnic on a beach at dusk. Nina: The first time he said “I love you”. I had gotten out of bed in the morning and come back with gingersnap cookies. I wasn’t sure if he was saying it to me or the cookie.
- Adam: She’s efficient and productive, gets jobs done and is cute too. Nina: His willingness to go along with my crazy plans and always supporting my play.
- We hope our wedding day is sentimental and sweet, really highlighting our love for each other and the life we are building together.
- Not sure, we’re moving into a new townhouse next week 🙂 But Nina’s grandparents have a wall of all the weddings of their children and grandchildren. Unfortunately, they are not well enough to travel for our wedding, but we look forward to adding our photo to the display.
