Boler Mountain Wedding Photography

Cara & Sean’s happy and bright August 2019 wedding was captured by Clara and Alana at Boler Mountain wedding photography. It was the first wedding for our team at this venue and as you will see, it had gorgeous natural backdrops and fun ceremony with the ski lift to the top of the mountain and elegant decor for the indoor reception. Even more important through are the moments captured including playing a street hockey game with the groomsmen (in full suits) during getting ready, the first looks of the bridesmaids, dad and finally Sean seeing Cara for the first time- which gives me all the feels. I can’t wait for us to be able to photograph another wedding at this venue!

  • Tell us the story of how the two of you met.
We met in Grade 12 English class and then again during second period spare. Sean use to help Cara win at cards by slipping her the highest cards during the game president.
  • What were your first thoughts on seeing each other?
We first noticed each other during Cara’s English presentation on Mark Twain. Sean, “ She’s good looking and knows a lot about river boats” Cara, “He’s cute but should stop sleeping during English.”
  • Tell me the proposal story (the long version is fine)
My friend asked me to go on a hike with her on the Bruce Trail which is up near my grandparents house. Sean asked if he could join us and Alisha (my friend) said yes. Unbeknownst to me they had already preplanned this whole thing. What they didn’t account for was that Sean and I were puppy sitting his parents 4 month old puppy and I insisted that we bring her on our hike. So we all packed in the car and headed 2 hours away to Eugenia Falls for a hike. As we were hiking, Alisha kept wanting me to take pictures of her at different points in our hike (it’s very scenic on the Bruce trail) especially when we got to Eugenia Falls. Then she suggested she get a shot of Sean and I standing on the falls so she took the camera and dog to the lookout and we stood on top of the falls and Sean asked me to mary him.
  • What is your favourite memory together (other than those mentioned above)?
Our first summer together. We had both graduated high school and would spend so much time together driving around, talking, going for walks and getting to know each other. We were so young and care free, every time we were together it was a fun and exciting new adventure.
  • What do you love most about each other?
Sean loves “her selflessness and how she really cares about others. Also her sense of humour.” Cara loves “his optimism and sense of humour. He brings fun into all aspects of our lives and is always a great support system for me.”
  • How do you hope your friends and family see your wedding?
We hope they see it as a fun party to celebrate our love. We have been together for 9 years and a lot of our family members say they have been looking forward to it.
  • Have you thought of anywhere in your house you would like to hang your wedding photographs?
We have a picture wall in our living room so definitely there and a few photos in our bedroom. We would also like to have a coffee table book made for our future family room.
  • Why did you choose Woodgate Photography?
You were recommended by a few friends and I liked your portfolios online
