Woodstock ON Wedding Photography

Michelle and George’s winter wedding was super unique! The couple opted to have hourly coverage rather than my normal full day packages and I was more than happy to tailor something that suited their needs for their Woodstock ON Wedding Photography.

The day started with me taking decor photographs at their ceremony and reception venue SixThirtyNine restaurant in Woodstock, ON. I then headed to Chateau La Motte Guest House where George was ready and where some of the guests were staying. The venue suited their love of vintage/antique. After some finishing touch photographs of George, I got him ready for the first look, and it was a super sweet moment shared between the two of them (and me capturing it). We then captured the majority of the family photographs in one of the rooms of the guest house, which was a great idea to keep everyone happy and warm before braving the cold for the ceremony. It was my first winter outdoor ceremony and I loved it!

After the ceremony we photographed a few larger groups of friends and family and then had perfect golden hour lighting for Michelle & George’s couple photographs.

The reception was warm and friendly and speeches were emotional and funny. The food was amazing! Capturing first dances in a small area can be tricky but I was happy to capture a few creative shots for them, as well as the outdoor dramatically lit and sparkler photographs. Little did I know that this would be my last wedding before the shutdown. I didn’t photograph another until August, which was the longest gap I had ever had since I started photographing weddings 10 years ago! It was interesting to me that this style of smaller wedding was the last I shot, and then led the way for the rest of 2020.

We met at a small sports bar in Woodstock. Michelle was there with some friends after her lob ball game and George was already there with his friends. One of the girls on Michelle’s team grew up with George. Michelle started talking to George and the rest was history.

George thought Michelle was beautiful even while wearing her baseball uniform. Michelle thought George was very handsome.

George took Michelle and their dog Sinatra on a walk in a wooded trail near their house. It was November and there were leaves on the ground and no on else was there. Mid way through George proposed down on his knee and all. Michelle said yes while Sinatra looked on in confusion.

Michelle going to George’s cottage for the first time. We boated 20 mins to the cottage with Sinatra in his life vest. Fished, played games, shot rifles at pop cans, bathed in the river, and played games. There is no cell signal so very secluded.

George loves Michelle’s sense of humour, intelligence, playfullness, and her love of vintage things like listening to records, playing board games, and crocheting. Michelle loves George’s big heart, his creative side, his guitar playing, cooking, outdoorsiness, and his appreciation for the little things in life.

Fun and intimate. Casual and elegant.

Hallway leading upstairs, bedroom, office maybe.
