Why did you choose us?

We saw your booth at the Bridal show at Western Fair a few years back and loved the style, loved the collaboration between the photographers on your team, and thought the vibe was great.
Tell us the story of how the two of you met.
We have known each other for quite some time through a family friend and reconnected when Amanda moved to London in 2012 and then eventually started dating in 2014.
Tell me the proposal story (the long version is fine)
Bryan: Amanda and I had been talking about getting engaged for a while, but thinks were just taking their time to materialize.
I reached out to Colin at Nash Jewellers and started working out a design for the ring. I knew Amanda wanted a lavender stone so I worked with Colin to source something beautiful.
Once the ring was done, I wanted to make the proposal amazing.
Amanda’s family decided to plan a trip to Sao Miguel Island in the Azores to visit family. Originally I did not think I would be able to go, but then I pulled some strings to make it work and I joined them on this trip.
Through all of my research, I had continually seen pictures of the overlook of the Twin Lakes and the pathway at the top of the crater.
I had snuck the ring into a pair of shoes to take on the plane so she would have no idea, and then I gave the ring to Amanda’s mother to hold on for me while we were there. We took off for a day of sightseeing and I had expressed an interest in being able to go up to the top of the crater so we could see the lakes from above. We stopped on the side of the road at an outlook that showed the two lakes perfectly. Amanda walked to the edge of the lookout, I gave Marion the signal and she gave me the ring and I make sure that Taya (Amanda’s sister) was ready to capture film and photos. I walked up behind Amanda and got down on one need, I say ‘hey’, she turned around and realized what was happening. I told her I wanted nothing more than to spend my life with her and asked her if she would marry me. She said yes and we spent the rest of our vacation enjoying being an engaged couple.
What is your favourite memory together (other than those mentioned above)?
We both love our cottage trips so much. The time away from work, away from the city, spending time outdoors adventuring together is what we most enjoy. Camping and hammocking and swimming and relaxing makes us so happy.
What do you love most about each other?
Bryan: I love her creativity and passion and love for those who are close to her. She is unwavering in her love and support for people that mean something to her and she is quick to remind people that they are loved and that she cares about them.
Amanda: I love how genuine Bryan is and how much he cares about everyone around him. No matter the need, Bryan bends over backwards for everyone.
How do you hope your friends and family see your wedding?
We hope they see it as a fun, relaxed day where two people are cementing their love for each other in a way that truly reflects who they are. A pool party filled with good food and outdoor games and casual conversation is definitely our style.
Have you thought of anywhere in your house you would like to hang your wedding photographs?
We have a nice long hallway that already has a photo from our trip to the Azores and we have walls in our living room that would benefit from some colour and more photos. Bryan also works from home so photos for his desk and office are a must.
