You came with a lot of great reviews. we met a few photographers but we loved that you actually had samples of winter weddings to show us. I knew Corey wanted to go with you as soon as you pulled those out and he started to see the candid shots from the second photographer.
A mutual friend asked me (Erin) if I would be interested in meeting Corey, he gave me a little information about him. I took Corey’s number and sent him a message. We talked for a couple weeks before agreeing to meet for a first date.
Corey and I spent two weeks messaging and calling before we actually met. When we did first see each other my thoughts were finally.
Corey took me to Niagara Falls to see the Christmas lights on a ridiculously cold winter day in November 2017. We walked along the Falls so Corey could take some pictures and work on his photography skills. We stopped for a while at the top of the Falls (my favourite spot) I turned around to ask him a question and he was holding the ring. He almost got down on one knee but said it was wet and he’d freeze and mumbled “Will you marry me” I responded with “What was that?” He asked again, I laughed, called him an idiot and said YES!
The first night in our new home. 15 minutes after we got keys we were in the house ripping up the terrible tile floors, we spent a week doing renovations and ran into a lot of issues picking up our new bed. We moved in with no bed and had to find our clothes for an out of town wedding the next day. We had cardboard boxes nailed over the windows for curtains, but none of it mattered because we were finally into our new home together.
I love that Corey knows how to cheer me up no matter what. He knows sometimes I just need some space, but with all the stress with planning the wedding when I tell him something is worrying me or bothering me, he makes the most ridiculous joke ever that I can’t help but laugh and feel better. Corey loves my sense of humour and how I always laugh at my own jokes, even though I’m usually the only one. – I promise I am funny, he just doesn’t get all my jokes.
I hope they see two people that are incredibly happy together and enjoy what is likely the first winter wedding for most.
We have a floor bungalow with a big stair case down to the basement. The wall above the landing is wide open and we have some frames already on the wall just waiting for pictures. We will also put some up in the living room.
Any advice for people planning their wedding? Best wedding related decision? Hire a coordinator, even if only for day off. It was a huge relief to know I didn’t need to ask any family members or friends to sit at the venues and wait for vendors and to know if anything goes wrong they will contact him and not me.
