I’m excited to be photographing Kate & Curtis’ wedding today at Pineknot– such a great date 8/18/18 or for the Aussies reading- 18/8/18.

  • Curtis and I met online through Match.com. He messaged me and a week later we arranged our first date. During our first date we spoke for over four hours and felt like we’d known each other our entire lives!
  • I thought that Curtis was a good-looking guy with a great personality. On the first date he made me laugh and I just felt comfortable with him. I could tell he was a genuine person who enjoyed making others laugh. Curtis thought I was intriguing and enjoyed getting to know more about me on our first couple of dates. He thought I was a kind-hearted person who cared about the people in my life.
  • Curtis and I had been planning a trip to the Czech Republic as I wanted him to meet my extended family. Our trip was planned for the fall and over the course of the summer Curtis had been planning a ring and creating a book of photos and words detailing our two years together. On our first day in the city of Prague, Curtis and I went to do a city tour and he insisted on going to the Vrtbovska gardens, which is a hidden garden in the city centre. We walked around and finally he asked me to have a seat on a more secluded bench. He told me he’d like to give me his anniversary gift and pulled out the book for me to open. We read the book together, page by page, which detailed our past two years together. Finally we got to the last page, which had a photo of him kneeling and saying will you marry me. He took this opportunity to reach into his backpack and pull out the engagement ring and ask me to marry him. Needless to say it was an extremely memorable and romantic proposal, which I continue to cherish.
  • Our favourite memory together is when we took a trip for our first anniversary. We went to the Briar, which is located about an hour outside of Toronto. It was a trip that almost didn’t happen because I had sprained my ankle about a week before, however instead of cancelling we made the best of our situation and decided to go anyway. We had a wonderful time with the most beautiful weather. We got to try delicious food, swim in the outdoor pool and even did a boat ride of Lake Simcoe. It definitely was a trip for the books!
  • I love that Curtis is an all around good guy. He is truly there for me no matter what and makes me feel better when I am having a bad day. I love his sense of humour and that he enjoys a range of things from sports, to video games, to bird watching. He is always teaching me something new. Curtis loves that I am loyal and a caring person. He loves how I have opened his eyes to the world of travelling and showed him the possibilities of the countless trips we can take in the future. He also loves that I support and take part in his hobbies such as bird watching.
  • We hope our friends and family will see our wedding as a celebration of love and two people coming together to start the next chapter in their adventure together. We hope they enjoy celebrating with us!
  • We chose Woodgate Photography because we really enjoyed your ability to take beautiful photos, both candid and posed. We also found Erin very easy-going and very knowledgeable about the world of wedding photography.
