Windermere Manor Wedding Photography London Ontario
Katie & David’s big day was captured by Erin at Windermere Manor.
- We met in 2008 through mutual friends in our first year at Western; we both lived on campus in Saugeen Maitland Hall. A group of seven of us moved into a student house together on Sarnia Road, where we lived for 3 years. During this time we became close friends and in 2011, our last year living in this student house, we decided to start dating.
- We started the night with dinner at our favorite restaurant in town and then a walk through Victoria Park. When we got back to the apartment David got down on one knee and proposed. Katie was so surprised that she kept saying “no! what? no!” in disbelief, to the point where David had to laugh and ask what her real answer was. Obviously she said yes.
- We have been so lucky in that we have been able to travel several times together in the past six years; including trips to Seattle, Houston, two trips to England, and several trips to the Bahamas to visit David’s family. Some of our favourite memories are from these trips: wandering around London at night and seeing Big Ben for the first time, being able to attend David’s “graduation” dinner in Seattle where he received his fellowship / professional designation, snorkeling with sharks and rays in the Exumas, spending Christmases together and with each other’s families (whether in Niagara or Nassau), running a 16K run (training for a half-marathon) through a beautiful park in Seattle. Some of our other amazing memories together include adopting our adorable cat Bender (on Western’s Homecoming Day in 2013), walking across the stage together for our undergraduate convocation (only one person separated us alphabetically), encouraging each other to participate in several running events (including half marathons). Also, our chess or Sudoku challenges that keep us on our toes.
- Katie: David is my best friend. I love his kindness and his patience, but also that he is constantly challenging me and motivating me to do my very best. David: Katie is also my best friend. You are a truly kind person that inspires (not guilts) me into being better at life. Your belief in me supports me when I am challenged and pushes me to succeed at whatever my current focus is. You also challenge me and I love the open ended thought experiments that dive(and sometimes challenge) into who we are and what we believe.
- As David’s family is traveling a great distance to be here for our day (David was born in the Bahamas and has family coming from England too) we hope that our friends and family see our day as a fun, fairly laid back day where they can celebrate together. We will likely have around 100 people at our event, which is hosted at Windermere Manor. We love the feel of the great hall and the surrounding grounds and hope that everyone will be able to enjoy this beautiful space and have a great time. We want everyone who is attending to understand that they have played a role in shaping who we are and that has led us to finding each other. The evening should be a happy start to a happy life.
- We chose Woodgate Photography because of a Bridal Show here in London. Katie and her mom attended the event with the hopes of learning more about photography packages. Erin was one of the last photographers they spoke to that day, and they just seemed to strike up a conversation so naturally. Erin was pleasant and informative, her work is exceptional, and the base package that we chose is exactly what we need for exactly what we were hoping to pay. We are very excited to have booked a photographer that we imagine we will feel comfortable with on the day of our wedding.
