Last June I had the pleasure of photographing Danielle and Annie’s big day in their family backyard in Aurora. I LOVED the clear tent with the tea party theme, it made it look like it was in a greenhouse. The pool and yard games with the relaxed atmosphere really made my time photographing their day so much easier, especially as it was such a hot day.

  • Danielle was working on a show that a bunch of my actor friends were in. One of them suggested that we should meet each other so we went on a blind date.
  • Annie took me on a trip to the Netherlands (where my family is from). She met all of my extended family, and let me drag her (very slowly) through several art museums. Then, on a night that also happened to be her birthday, we went out to a little restaurant in Amsterdam where she proposed with a beautiful ring and my favourite candy.
  • After being together for six years, it would be difficult to pick just one favourite memory. But so many of our best memories relate to food. Annie was working as a chef when we first met, and she really introduced me to the joy of food. The first time she cooked for me, introducing me to new foods, and finding interesting restaurants when we travel. But especially going for high tea on our anniversaries. It seemed appropriate to have a tea party themed wedding.
  • I love Danielle because she helps me understand myself better. She sees things in me that I’ve never noticed myself. When I have trouble making a decision I can always go to her for help. And if I’m having a crisis she can calm me down and give me clarity. I love Annie because she brings out parts of myself that I didn’t know existed. She reminds me of what is important in life, and I can be more vulnerable around her than I’ve been able to be around anyone. I know that I could never love anyone as much as I love her.
  • It’s a fancy high tea, but it’s in a family backyard. So we hope that it still feels like a special day, but that the atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable.
  • Definitely our stairwell. We have a collection of art and photos displayed there from all of our travels and adventures.
  • We chose you because we were immediately comfortable around you, something that was important to us since we’re having our wedding at a family home. We also really liked your style of photography, since we’re pretty terrible at posing for photographs.
