Happy #WeddingWednesday! We all know how important it is for everyone to be present for your special day and to share all the memories together. Many couples struggle with the idea of having their dog in their wedding. Leash & Paws now offers a service to help ease the worry of having your dog at your ceremony, photos or venue. We provide wedding dog attendant services so that your pup can be incorporated into your big day.

Below are some helpful tips to consider:

1. Ensure that your dog is well socialized and will be able to be around your guests at the wedding. Ensure if there are any guests or people in the bridal party who are fearful or allergic of your dog.

2. Have your dog pampered prior to the wedding day so that they are groomed and ready to go.

3. Decide what role your dog will have in the wedding and any training that would be required in order for them to preform their role and practice it several times at home.

4. Any outfits, flowers, special collars should be worn before the big day (as a dress rehearsal) to ensure that your dog is comfortable in their attire.

5. Assign someone to handle your dog for the day so that they can ensure your dog is fed, has water and has had a walk before and after their role in the wedding. Designating one person will definitely assist and ease the big day. Confirm with your venue that animals are allowed or discuss with them about having your dog there for part of the event. Assigning a handler for the day helps ease any hesitation a venue may have.
