Backyard Wedding London Ontario
Bryan and Amanda are just the nicest couple and I was so happy to be able to capture their backyard wedding last summer! Like many couples are doing this year, they made the decision to change their wedding from a traditional venue to a family members backyard. Backyard weddings are always some of my favourite to photograph as they typically are more laid back and have plenty of opportunity for capturing candid shots of the guests enjoying themselves- having some yard games or a pool like Bryan and Amanda had is a great idea to get people up and moving and laughing. The day started with me photographing the girls getting ready at Bryan and Amanda’s apartment in London and then heading to the house which was the wedding location in Strathroy to capture the final details of the dress going on etc. The ceremony was from the heart and loved capturing all their emotions. After a big group photo and shots of the family was the lunchtime reception with amazing food and a few speeches. We then photographed their wedding party and couple photos and then I got to capture something I had been waiting for years to capture- the bride pushing the groom into the pool! It was so nice to then just hang out and photograph the guests enjoying themselves in the pool, I even dangled my legs in 🙂
Get a good wedding planning book that contains checklists. SOOOOOOO EASY! Keep checking things off until you’ve got everything done. And seriously… if you have the choice to work evening shift while planning, DO IT! Getting things done in the mornings when businesses are open is SO much easier. Also, CALL people. Email seems really easy, but in our experience, some people took a really long time to respond. Just call.
