London Ontario Fall Engagement Photos
I’m excited to photograph Kaitlyn and Jochem’s wedding today and after looking through their engagement photos too make this blog now I’m looking forward to fall!
- Jochem and I met at a mutual friends party, Nick had told all of his friends to hit on me (so I had a lot of attention that night!) After that one encounter Jochem did everything he could to get my attention and my heart. He spoiled me rotten. I always said that my husband should bring me lots of gifts and here I met a man who did. But we did not end up together because of beautiful gifts; he stole my heart with his quiet, thoughtful way, and by recognizing what he wants and not giving up until he gets it. We have had good and bad times, and through it all we both recognize that we want to be together. We have been together for five amazing years and I can not wait to see what life has in store for us.
- My first thought of Jochem was that he was too nice and a little clingy, but over time he has become my best friend and my rock, he is the first person I want to call when something happens, good or bad. My first thought of Kaitlyn was that she was beautiful and I wanted to get to know her.
- When someone asks how Jochem proposed I start by first clarifying that Jochem is terrible at keeping secrets, when trying to hide something no matter what it is he smiles. When Jochem picked up the ring he was too excited to wait and plan anything, he picked me up from work at 9:30pm that same day and decided to take me to the Texas Longhorn Steak House for dinner. (I was confused and suspicious. Who eats dinner at 10?) Restaurants are always so cold! At work I never needed a sweater. (it’s a bikini store! they keep the store so warm to feel like a vacation…) So I asked Jochem for his jacket. He smiled and jokingly said “you should have brought a sweater then” (knowing that he had the ring in his coat pocket.) because of that knowing smile I knew something was up so I jokingly said “you have a ring don’t you?” ruining my proposal 🙁 Jochem told me to shut up, gave me his coat and said you might as well put (the ring) it on… How romantic! but a memory to last a lifetime.
- my favourite memory with Jochem would have to be our trip to Alberta, to visit his sister, it was the first time that we travelled together and I really got to know his sister while we were there, we travelled all over the entire province and I have seen once in a lifetime things. that was the first time I truly felt like I was becoming part of the Roelen family! My favourite memory with Kaitlyn is probably when we bought our house, it was our own and a place where we could build our lives together.
- I love Jochem’s Kindheartedness he will do anything to make those around him feel loved and included and he will go out of his way to help anyone around him that he sees in need. What I love most about Kaitlyn is her caring and loving personality.
- I hope our friends and family see our wedding as a small romantic wedding, our theme is southern belle meets cowboy so I would love some artistic shots with the small church and other rustic buildings within the Pioneer Village.
- I have a spot over our stairs that I would love to place a large canvas print as well as a few little frames in the living room that I will put some images in.
- I loved the style of the photos very romantic, I also love the artsy shot that I saw on your website and Erins’ personality and how she made us feel comfortable were really what made our decision so easy!
