Lion’s park, Paris ON engagement session

Lion’s park, Paris ON engagement session

Clara and I are off to photography Sabrina and Tristian’s big day today at Knottingwood and I’m looking forward to seeing them again! Their engagement session was one of the first sessions I photographed after having Logan so that it worked with their visit to the Paris, ON area. They personalized their session with including the baseball which was at the Lion’s park, Paris ON engagement session and also with their fencing jackets.

Here is what they had to say about their engagement session-

  • It felt so comfortable and easy. I’m sure we got many shots we will love without the dreaded awkwardness we thought came with photo sessions.
  • Absolutely. Above and beyond. We had genuine smiles the entire time and got to be ourselves. Erin was also super accommodating with our crazy travel schedules.
  • better than other experience
  • My fiancé and I both headed to the session ready for an uncomfortable experience that we would both want over quickly. I’m laughing now because it was fun! Nothing felt forced. We didn’t have to hold any awkward poses. The entire session was fluid and natural.
  • We really wanted natural pictures. No over the top filters, no tinting, true to life colours. Being awkward people we looked for a more candid portfolio, less magazine poses.
  • We were both on the Trent University fencing team. We never talked until Sabrina’s first tournament. We kept chatting through the weekend and teammates kept pushing us together.
  • Sabrina thought Tristan looked dorky in his athletic shorts. Tristan thought Sabrina was cute and worth talking to.
  • I bought the ring while away for work in Saskatoon. When I got home I suggested we go for a walk at the local provincial park (echo valley). I knew Sabrina would say yes but when we got to the first good viewpoint I was too nervous and kept the ring in my pocket. When we were nearing the end of the walk I gathered up my courage and got on 1 knee when Sabrina wasn’t looking, she was so surprised! And of course immediately said yes
  • We’ve had several periods of long-distance throughout our relationship, reunification always leads to the fondest memories. In 2016, early in our relationship I was working in Banff national park for the summer, Sabrina worked really hard all summer to afford the time to fly out and visit and drive home together. Showing Sabrina all my favourite spots in the rockies, exploring some new ones together, and then camping our way back home to ontario is a very fond memory. Especially our last night camping on the beach at lake superior provincial park.
  • I love how Goofy and fun Tristan can be. Even in the grumpiest of times. He can’t keep a serious face for very long. I love how easy it is to make sabrina smile, everytime she sees me after being at work, or even another room of the house her face lights up
  • We hope they see it as a large gathering. Being far from home we want it to be a chance to have fun and connect with our loved ones. We hope it reflects our playful personalities.
  • I have already picked out 3 definite spots for pictures. I’m sure more will make there way around. The statement shot will be at the end of our hallway getting all the attention it will deserve.
