Strathroy wedding photographer
I wish every wedding was as personalized as Sara & Mike’s! Their Strathroy wedding photographer started at their home where they both got ready, they had a low key first look once she had her dress on when she came down the stairs. Their ceremony was held in a small chapel at the Portuguese Canadian club of Strathroy venue. The perfect modern ceremony was performed by Jodi from Something New. After a group photo of all of their guests and family photos, we captured some timeless and candid photos of their wedding party and the two of them with the soft April light on the grounds of the Portuguese club, not a particularly ‘ideal background’ but as you can see we created some magic with our compression lenses and shallow depth of field. It was then back to the couples house to change from their wedding outfits to cosplay! They were the Joker and Harley Quinn and even dyed their hair in between the ceremony and reception! Their reception was held in the upstairs area of the Portuguese club, an area with lots of natural light and I loved all of their comic book decor. After dinner and their first dance- Sweet but Psycho by Ava Max, they held a Magic the Gathering (aka “Magic”) tournament. Magic is a strategic card game, and it is a big part of their lives.
Also for my blog would you mind telling me any advice for people planning their wedding? Best wedding related decision?
We’re so glad that we stayed true to who we are when planning this wedding, and that we incorporated our personality into the day. The biggest thing to ask yourself when planning your wedding is this: what are the most important things about the day for you? For us, it’s having amazing photos to cherish for many years, and having a really fun party that is true to who we are. Even if nothing else goes right, we know that we will have those two things taken care of for sure, so the rest of it is a lot less pressure.
