I’m pregnant and due Dec 1st!

After telling everyone booked for weddings in October onwards, I’ve been slowly telling clients as I’ve seen them etc but thought it was about time to ‘go public’ with the news! Cameron and I are very excited and love our gender reveal photographs Captured by Clara last month (I really thought it was a boy)!
**Vulnerable bit** I had been afraid of telling people and had considered not saying anything until it was very obvious as I thought that people would maybe not want to book their sessions with me, and I didn’t want anyone to worry about me still being able to do what I do everyday. However, everyone has been great and have told me stories about working right up until they were having the baby so it gives me hope! With it being my first (even though most people assume I already have kids with how much I love to photograph them), with me being such a planner, the fear of the unknown has been something I have needed to work on. Also without us having our families or long time friends in London, we were thinking it would be hard but so far everyone has been so great- both locally with some clients turned friends keeping an eye out for me for Winnie the Pooh stuff for the nursery/ strollers etc and with our loved ones far away making plans to come visit or sending us sweet gifts so hopefully won’t be as hard as we were thinking. I’m excited to make some new ‘mom’ friends so if you know of any other places to meet other parents etc would love to hear about them! Luckily I haven’t had any side effects which have affected me from doing just as good of a job as I always would on sessions and weddings. I’ve been able to continue with bootcamp class at Body Design Fitness and also luckily, my belly is starting to grow but most people don’t even know I’m pregnant or if I tell them they say ‘you’re not showing much for 5.5 months!’ which I’m happy about as if this keeps up it will certainly be easier for the busy fall months!
So the plan from here on is that I will have an assistant with me on some of the September weddings, all of the October weddings and if I feel I need it, for fall/xmas mini session days. I am hoping that Nov 10th will be my last day for sessions so that we (Cameron does the portrait session editing) can get all of the sessions and weddings back to everyone by when they are guaranteed back. Alana and Clara will take over doing the on location portrait sessions (likely not mini sessions) after that point. My first wedding back will be in Mid January and then going from there for the ‘slow season’ in winter with doing shoots as needed, while Cam is home with the baby- but likely no Valentines Day minis but certainly back to normal by Easter minis!
