Winter engagement session at Gibbons Park

I’m off to photograph Melissa and Ludwick’s big day today at the Delta Armouries (I can’t wait for their amazing food!), and I’m excited to share their Winter engagement session at Gibbons Park. As this winter was pretty mild without much snow, we made the most of the beautiful backdrops that Gibbons Park has to offer and got some meaningful poses in there like him kissing her hand, just like he did on their first date.

  • We met the good old fashioned way – online! We chatted for several weeks, off and on and finally decided to meet for drinks at a local Kelseys. We stayed for three hours just chatting, (or being interviewed as Ludwik would say!), and the time went easily by. Longest interview in my life, LOL !!! (Ludwik)
  • My first thought was that he was tall! And he kissed my hand upon greeting me which I thought was unique and also sweet. My first thought was that Melissa has an amazingly warm and sweet smile.
  • We were away in Mexico for my nephew’s destination wedding and spending 10 days there. The wedding was on day 3 of our trip and was a great time. Valentine’s day was 3 days later and we made plans for beach massages and using the spa facilities. Later in the afternoon we were hanging down on the beach with family and friends and he asked me to head to the ocean for a swim – I agreed. As we were getting close to the water, he said he wanted to ask me something before we went it and before I knew it, he was down on one knee and pulling a ring box out of his pocket. He asked me to marry him and I said yes! I was so surprised and I could hear people around us on the beach saying “he just proposed!” We went into the water so I could collect my thoughts and then returned to the beach to tell our family and friends. It was so great that they were all there to share in the good news. I found out later that he had asked my Dad for permission the year prior and he also asked my nephew to make sure he wouldn’t be stealing the spotlight from them – I was impressed by his thoughtfulness! One of the many reasons I said yes!
  • I’m not sure I can give just one. We have done a lot of travelling together in the 5 years we have known each other and have created many special memories of the things we have done and places we have seen.
  • I love that he is patient, kind, romantic, smart, and that he always puts me first. When I am with him I feel special and loved. I love that Melissa is very kind, selfless, smart, organized and romantic.
  • I hope they see two people who love each other and also love their guests. We will be grateful for everyone who can share our day with us and we want everyone to have a seamless, good time with lots of laughter, dancing and special moments. We want them to enjoy every part of the day and look back at it and think “what a great time” and that it was one of the best times they have had at a wedding.
  • On a gallery wall in the rec room and likely a framed photo in the living room and one in the bedroom.
  • We had picked up your information at a bridal show and reviewed your online gallery. During our face to face meeting, we felt comfortable and thought you (and team) were knowledgeable and experienced in creating wondering wedding photos/memories and we trusted you with our special day.
