Backyard Covid wedding London Ontario
As it is their 1st anniversary I’m happy to be getting this lovely wedding on the blog. Deanna & Chris’ wedding was one of my only full day style weddings last year because the restrictions wreaked havoc on wedding planning (and everything else) making their wedding into a Backyard Covid wedding London Ontario. I had first met Chris when I was photographing his brothers wedding and loved photographing the couples engagement session at a property near Port Burwell with their gorgeous dog! They had recently bought their house in Shedden, Ontario and after a bunch of work their backyard was the perfect location for their big day. Deanna’s side of the wedding party (including her twin brother) got ready at home and Lori-Anne photographed the guys getting ready then we managed to photograph the ceremony and a few family photos before it started raining, and kept raining all through their speeches and cocktail hour. The speeches were sweet and funny, even though at some point they had to abandon the microphone because of being scared of water damage (which was legit- I ended up having to get my water resistant camera fixed, just to show just how much it rained on us!). The rain eventually cleared for us to get some sweet wedding party and couple photos. I loved how relaxed the day was and I’m looking forward to the trend of more weddings like this. I also was lucky enough to photograph their new baby 🙂
Best wedding related decision for us was to keep it simple and low stress, in the end it’s about the day and the love you share with that person, not about the extravagance of the event.
