Back in September 2019 I had the pleasure of being Valerie and Michael’s London Ontario Elopement Photographer. The day started with me photographing their first look out the front of city hall, then joining their family inside for some last minute touch ups. Their ceremony was short but very sweet and there were plenty of happy tears for me to capture! After the ceremony we headed up to the roof of city hall for some fun photos with the city in the background.
The highlight of the day was seeing Val & Mike with their beloved dog Teddy! Black Dog & Company were there to help with having him dressed, transported and looked after for the day, as well as helping during the photographs. I can’t recommend having them high enough to have at your session or wedding! After photos the couple headed to Black Trumpet restaurant and met a bunch of their friends for a lovely meal.
I always aim to have a ‘friend with a camera’ vibe on a wedding day, rather than ‘just a vendor’. In this case I can honestly call Val a friend as we bonded over Hanson and even went to Detroit together for their Christmas show later in 2019.
We met at a wedding! We were both in the wedding party and sat beside each other at dinner. We have talked in some way, shape, or form every day since that wedding.
We had just landed in London, UK for a two week trip. I forgot my camera charging cord so, jet lagged, we searched the city for a charger before our reservations at Gordon Ramsay’s flagship French restaurant. Finally found one and rushed back to the hotel to get ready. I was just about to put my lipstick on to go and I turned around and Michael was on one knee! I said YES!!! Quickly texted a few people. Forgot to put on lipstick, perfume and left the newly charged camera at the hotel!
We both agree 100% – our trip to Iceland in 2015. It was the trip that sparked our love for travel and heightened our love for each other. And that’s why we are starting our married life together by going back to Iceland on our honeymoon! We will then continue on traveling to Norway and Denmark. And also the day we got our dog, Teddy.
Michael: everything. Val: he truly takes the best care of me. And also everything else.
Relaxed, good food, good fun and good company.
Our hallway. I like to build things and I’ve made a photo frame ledge. I’m also going to do a barn board wall this fall at the end of our hallway to display the best one.
A friend suggested your page on Facebook over a year ago and I’ve been following your posts. Also, a mutual love for Hanson sealed the deal.
