Winter Engagement Session London Ontario

Winter Engagement Session London Ontario

It is Jacqueline and Alex’s wedding today! Keeping up with last year I aim to post every engagement session on the wedding day of the couple. They are such a down to earth cool couple and are doing things very differently with their wedding photography and their day which should be fun but you can see more about that tomorrow with the sneak peeks. For their engagement session last winter we headed to Gibbons Park which looks great in the winter with the variety of backgrounds and they cracked open a bottle of wine. Alex proposed in Quebec city after a hike and bike ride and when he proposed with some beer he videoed it.We focused mostly on candid and fun photos and unlike the majority of my sessions I share, my faves from the session were a variety of the vintage and colour pop tones compared to the usual straight colour edits. Looking forward to photographing them today at Museum London.

Bellamere Winery engagement photography

Bellamere Winery engagement photography

I just photographed Jenn & Chris’ wedding on New Years eve at Bellamere Winery and just realized I haven’t blogged their engagement session which was photographed at the venue from August 2016! Jenn is so bubbly and fun and you can just see the love that Chris has for her in these shots, here some more about their relationship written by the now newlyweds!

  • We met at Fanshawe College, both enrolled in the Medical Radiation Technologist program (2009). We were at the same bus stop to go to school, who ever got on the very busy bus first would save a seat for the other! This went on all year and each time we sat a little closer 😉 Eventually our friendship turned into love and we were college sweethearts!
  • It was September 24th and we were visiting the south of Poland a cute city called Zakopane. A must see on our list was to visit the “Morskie Oko” (eye of the sea) it’s a beautiful lake on top of a mountain with more mountains surrounding it. So we packed a couple of sandwiches and caught the bus to drive us in. We knew it was a going to be a bit of a hike but we didn’t know it was going to be a 9km hike! The weather was calling for rain – but luckily it held off! After a couple stops along the way Jenn said “oh man I hope the end is worth it” and Chris said ” I think it will be!” We finally make it to the top and the view was breath taking. We find a beautiful spot with the perfect view to eat our lunch – but so does everyone else. Visitors keep interrupting us asking us to take their photo! One group even wanted a photo with us! After the third group we decided to move to a place a little quieter. And there we were – just the two of us enjoying the view, Chris got down on one knee and everything felt like it was in slow motion. Jenn cried out Yes (happy tears of course) and just like that we were engaged! We took the horse carriage back down the mountain and went for dinner to celebrate! It was definitely our best trip!
  • Hard to pick just one! We love our first portaging trip to algonquin – spent the week outdoors no cellphones just the two of us on our own private island at one point – amazing trip even though Jenn sprained her ankle on the last leg! Also love the memory when we went to Marlies game and got chosen for the intermission game – we were on the ice, I was in a tub and Chris had to push me around collecting puzzle pieces as we went along the rink. Then had to race to the centre and assemble the puzzle – we totally beat the other team! Theres also the day we brought Wally home – such a special day for our little family. Ooo and also going to Ottawa in the winter and skating the canal hand in hand!
  • Chris – i love the way Jenn sings in the car even though she gets the words wrong all the time. I love the way she tries to say expressions but they come out wrong ie “you’re treading on thin ice”. I love how sweet and caring and sensitive she is. I love how thoughtful and creative she is, always putting so much time and effort into anything she has planed for us. Jenn – i love the way Chris calls my parents “mamus and tatus” (mommy and daddy in polish) from the beginning of our relationship. I love that he always laughs at my jokes. I love how he is always there for me – from when i just need a hug a back rub or need support when presenting at a conference – he is there!
  • We hope they see our love shine through! We hope its a beautiful romantic night with love everywhere! We also hope its a memorable wedding for everyone especially since its on New Years Eve!
  • Well we registered for a couple beautiful frames – cant wait to fill those babies! As well as we plan on getting some enlargements of our favourite photos and hanging them in the living room for all to see!
  • While researching photographers we came across your work and really liked the way your pictures told the story. Once we contacted you, you were very friendly and able to answer our questions and the pricing was in our budget! Once we met you we felt at ease and knew you’d be the perfect photographer to capture our love…and you let us bring Wally (our dog) to the studio with us! 🙂

Arva Ontario engagement photography

Arva Ontario engagement photography

The big day is here for Sarah and Antonin! I photographed them at a location that was special to them for their Arva Ontario Engagement Photography. I’m excited to be photographing their big day today at The Elm Hurst Inn.
Tell us the story of how the two of you met.
We went to high school together and later in life connected and started to become friends and eventually he asked me to be his girlfriend and 3 years later we are getting married!
Tell me the proposal story (the long version is fine)
We had picked out my engagement together a few months before so I knew it was happening but didn’t know when.
He surprised me by taking me to the place we had our first kiss and there was a note on the fence that basically said I love you and always have, I turned around and he was on one knee and I said yes ! Then went out for dinner 🙂
How do you hope your friends and family see your wedding?
As a romantic simple loving day.

Spring Engagement Photographer London Ontario

Spring Engagement Photographer London Ontario

Miranda and Dave are such a sweet, loving couple that it was super easy to photograph their engagement session back in the spring with the Magnolia trees at Springbank Park. They were in full bloom and the clothing choices they made were perfect for the scenery in the photographs. I’m excited to photograph their wedding today in Sarnia, and so glad that there should still be some fall leaves on the trees which will give a completely different look to the engagement photos. I personally love the variety of getting photos during different seasons.

Vintage car engagement photography Exeter Ontario

Back in the spring I had the pleasure of photographing Cecelia and Rob’s  engagement session in her parents yard with his fathers vintage car. Cecelia and Rob met when Cecelia was working the upholstery of the 1926 Willys Knight with suicide doors. We had fun with using some more dramatic light and having a Bonnie & Clyde inspired shots with the vintage guns.

Winter Engagement Session Ontario

Winter Engagement Session Ontario

Susie and Geoff tie the knot today and I’m excited to spend the day with this fun loving couple!

Tell us the story of how the two of you met.
Back in 2014, Susie and Geoff were both pretty happy, but they both wanted someone special to share their happinesses with. Geoff thought that he ought to get to know a girl he had recently met online.
Geoff asked her for a casual date – going out for a drink at Wink’s downtown London. Susie was excited. She walked there from her nearby apartment. Susie checked her reflection in each building window she passed by to make sure she still looked awesome. She did.
When she arrived, Geoff was standing outside waiting. What a great looking guy!
Their one drink took about 4 hours. They talked and talked. Needless to say, they hit it off. Both were soccer fans who enjoyed a good math puzzle and a good book. Geoff was also probably very impressed by Susie’s awesome puns. After many fun times dating, they decided they couldn’t handle the 5 minute drive from one another’s apartments – so they moved in together!
It was a wonderful idea, since they now had more time for puzzles, board games, and cooking together. A little while later, they decided that they wanted to continue this adventure – so one warm summer evening in Victoria Park, Geoff got down on one knee and popped the question. Susie said yes!
And here we are now, about to start a whole new chapter in this love story.

Tell me the proposal story (the long version is fine)
Longer version…

We went out for dinner downtown London last August at Waldo’s. After dinner we decided to go for a walk around Victoria park. This wasn’t an out of the ordinary thing for when we went downtown, so Susie had no suspicions about what would happen. Eventually, Geoff suggested we sit down on the bench for a bit. We were talking about the trip out east to Nova Scotia that we would be taking that week to meet some of Geoff’s aunts, uncles, and cousins. Geoff asked me, “should I introduce you as my girlfriend or… my fiance?” (so sweet). I didn’t quite catch on until Geoff got down on his knee with a ring. I said yes!

And then a couple who were out for a walk got so excited for us and they took our picture – it was great to have a photo of right when we got engaged.

What is your favourite memory together (other than those mentioned above)?
this is a hard one! Our top two would be our trip to Chicago last year and moving into our new house.

What do you love most about each other?
What Susie loves about Geoff – so much! I love that he is sweet and funny and likes puzzles. He cares about me and wants me to be happy and he cares about our families too.
What Geoff loves about Susie – that she is very unselfish and always puts her family and friends needs before hers.

How do you hope your friends and family see your wedding?
Relaxed, fun, and full of love

Why did you choose us?
We looked through the different wedding photos and your style stood out as something we could see ourselves in. When we met you, you also seemed very knowledge and easy to work with (and you are!).

Old Court House Engagement Photography

Old Court House Engagement Photography

Back in February when we would expect to have snow on the ground, Clara photographed Sarah and Yusri and their pup at the lovely year round Old Court House and Ivey Park.

  • Yusri is a soccer referee. My sister Jessica (and maid of honour) is also a soccer referee. Jessica set us up on a blind date. We met at Demetre’s, a dessert cafe, in Thornhill, where I am from. (Yusri is born and raised in Toronto)
  • WOW lol. and to this day it is still WOW. He was perfect looking to me and still is. Although the day we met he had a huge twirly mustache He was competing in a mustache growing competition with his friends and had been growing his mustache for months.
  • Yusri and I were going to Jamaica with my family. Yusri and I have been together for 7 years so I kind of expected that on this trip he would propose. However, he decided to surprise me and propose before leaving. I was in the basement doing laundry, and had thrown my pants into the laundry, I walked up stairs and turned the corner to go into the kitchen and Yusri had music playing and flowers in his hand. His face looked hilarious as he noticed I wasn’t wearing any pants. He immediately asked if he should stop and give me a second to go get pants on but I had waited 7 years so I wasn’t going to wait any longer lol
  • Yusri and I are sports fans. A couple of times now we have done sport weekends. I always love doing those. We get away and get to go watch the teams we love. We went to Montreal once and saw a soccer game in the morning TFC vs. Impact and a Maple Leaf vs. Montreal hockey game in the evening.
  • Yusri will do anything to help a friend. He is also incredibly supportive. We were living in Toronto and I got a job opportunity in London. He encouraged me to take the job and followed me to London. He got a new job/home/city just to support me. He really pushes me to be the best I can be.
  • I just really want everyone to have fun. I really want it to be a good time filled with smiles and laughter.
  • A friend recommended you to us
