St Thomas Wedding Photography

I met Kendra and Dale through Kayla and Bryan so I knew that they were going to be good people 🙂 This wedding was a dream to capture their St Thomas Wedding Photography, with an amazing team of vendors and people who wear their heart on their sleeve (which makes it easier to photographing the emotions of the day!). The day started with photographing the dapper groom getting ready with his buddies then heading over the parents of the brides house for the girls getting ready. The photo of Kendras dog licking her just after her makeup was finished was one of my favourites from the year. There were some very emotional first looks with Kendra’s dad and her bro-maids which was super cute before heading out to the VW vans. These vans are really popular in Australia, and I loved being able to include them in some of the shots. Their travel theme was brought throughout the decor in the church and at the reception. I photographed this wedding without a second shooter but I was told by the pastor (while the mic was still on inside the church) that I wasn’t aloud to move around at all during the ceremony. I did this for the most part, except for when there was a transition like going over to water the tree together, but despite this I think there are still some great shots showing their personalities from throughout the ceremony.
After photographing the family photographs inside the church straight after the ceremony, we headed to CASO and did most of the wedding party and couple photos there. Kendra had a bunch of special requests including re-creating some of her engagement photos that my studio- mate Kristine from Cheers to you Photography did for them, she just left some extra time in the schedule for this. I was really glad that we had the great indoor space for taking photos when it started raining, we had actually been told that we were the last wedding to use the green/exposed brick wall but from what I’ve heard it is still there which I’m very glad about!
The reception was filled with a funny bro-maid MC, many emotional speeches and wonderful first dances. My mouth literally waters when I think about the delicious family style meal and dessert buffet. To finish it all off we headed outside for a couple of night shots in the rain.
